With a new look and new name, AIG Retirement tells consumers where its expertise lies. AIG Earns 11 Awards in Prestigious International Advertising Competitions 08.12.08 With laughter, Pomeranians, and themes resonating with customers, such as family values, financial education and security, AIG's Retirement Services ads stood out from the pack at the Insurance and Financial Communicators Association (IFCA) Awards and the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA) Star Awards. AIG Retirement and AIG Annuity marketing picked up honors at the IFCA Awards for the now well-known Live Longer, Retire Stronger advertising campaign, receiving an Honorable Mention in the Trade Journal advertising category and an Award of Excellence in the Non-Product Kits category. A Best of Show award went to AIG Retirement Rebranding – the sweeping image and content makeover, collateral restructure and name change of AIG VALIC to AIG Retirement. Other IFCA categories where AIG had strong showings included a Best of Show for the Mission: Possible campaign; the Award of Excellence for the 2007 Scottsdale Sales Conference; the Did You Know? calendar; the Now Boarding for Non-Stop Annuity Sales campaign and Customer’s Select Choice annuity kit; and Honorable Mention for the Asset Builder annuity kit and Don’t Let Time Melt Away booth exhibition. According to IFCA, Best of Show awards are given to companies whose marketing campaigns they consider to be the best in the world in a particular category. Awards of Excellence go to "standout" work, and Honorable Mentions are granted to companies whose campaigns "excel among industry competitors." At the MFEA Star Awards, another international competition with more than 9,000 entries, AIG Retirement picked up an Award of Distinction for its Retirement Essentials newsletter.
